A Little Test, Blog Freebie by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

(UPDATE: freebies are for a limited time only.  This link no longer functions.  Check back later for other special gifts). Clickable link to FreebieI’m testing out a hosting service for posting my blog freebies to.  So I thought I would create a little goodie that I could use to show you my new font in a baby application.  I also included the same frame blank for your own text.

This font works really well for baby and child text and for school-oriented uses.  It’s also great for cute saying type signs if you create magnets or other goodies.

To download, click on the picture to the left and a window will pop up.  When you see the 4shared website page, there is a light green box in the middle of the page.  On the bottom right hand corner of this box is a small link that merely says "download file."  Click on it and your file will be headed to you.

This Freebie is for personal use only.  Feel free to share with friends, but please send them here to download the file from my blog.  Please do not share your files with anyone else as they are copyrighted.   Due to limited storage space on the server this download will only be active and available from July 29th, 2007 through August 29th, 2007.

Enjoy!

THE PROVERB OF THE DAY:  Proverbs 14:1-3  "Lady Wisdom builds a lovely home; Sir Fool comes along and tears it down brick by brick.  An honest life shows respect for God; a degenerate life is a slap in his face.  Frivolous talk provokes a derisive smile; wise speech evokes nothing but respect."  The Message Bible

Free Clip Art, Friday Freebie at Daisie Company by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

Normally I would be able to take the time to link the Friday Freebie here so that you could go directly to the shop and download it, but Stacey doesn’t have it up yet this morning and I’m getting ready to leave on our camping trip.  There’s still a million preparations!  The first trip out of the summer is the hardest, then with a trailer we just load up fresh clothes and food the next time and we’re off.  We’re hoping for 2 or 3 more trips over the summer.  I find it so refreshing and one of the best things I can do to spark my creativity.

Friday Freebee at DAISIE COMPANYI am linking this image to the DAISIE COMPANY STORE and you can click on it to take you there.  The Friday Freebee is now up.  Please take a moment to go through the pages of new offerings today, there’s lots of neat stuff from lots of great artist!

For those of you new to Daisie Company, take a look around.  There are forums for sharing designs, templates, cutting files (for those lucky enough to have one of those fabulous computerized cutters) and a whole lot more.  There’s also a section where other Friday Free Bees are located so you can take advantage of a few great offerings.

In my kit there is an invitation you can use for summer barbeques or pool parties, there’s a post card sized image you can use to create your own greeting card, post card or use in scrapbooking for a journaling space.  There’s the Fun in the Sun title and finally there’s a recipe card with a second page for long recipes.  I hope you’ll enjoy!

This is all made out of the art from my "Summer Fun 1" Clip art kit which will be debuting a week from today.

Free Baby Clip Art Gift By Audrey Jeanne Roberts

My new Baby clip art kit that became available today is shown in the post below this one.  This Freebie tag was created to go with it and is a thank you gift to those of you that had purchased "Baby Love 1" when it contained 3 or 4 pieces of art that had some minor flaws in them.  I apologize that you had to wait for the download.  The rest of you get to piggyback on their misfortune and enjoy a free gift from me.

free clip art baby scrapbooking tagTo download your free clip art, simply click on the image and a new window will pop up and take you to the download.  The freebie is subject to the DAISIE COMPANY ANGEL POLICY, also known as the terms of use.

I hope you’ll enjoy it and put it to good use!  By the way (before the questions start coming!) yes… the paper used in the background of this tag will be coming out (in 3 color versions!).  When?  Soon is all I can say.  I have another paper pack that I need to get to Stacey, so keep watching !

Are You Ready For Mother’s Day?! A Friday Freebie in Case You Aren’t!

If you aren’t ready for Mother’s Day yet, perhaps I can help you just a little with the free Mother’s Day Bookmark I have a couple of posts down.  Use this as is, or use the blank bookmark to create your own for your Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother or any other special lady in your life that you would like to honor.  While you’re at it, look at the Post categories to the right and click on freebies, there’s quite a few goodies here that might help you make your day special for your Mom (or for my UK/Aussie  friends "MUM!")

About 8 or 9 posts down is a link to a Mother’s Day Sentiment or Sayings kit with precreated messages using my art and original verse that is available at DAISIE COMPANY.  If you scroll down and then click on the image, it will take you to where you can purchase for only $5.98 and download the kit immediately (with plenty of time to spare for Mother’s Day!)

(UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  These cute little elements are part of Vickie Hennessy’s Wildflower kit.  They were missing at the time of upload, so she has replaced them here for those who have the kit, and given them as a little bonus freebee for those who don’t… and included a delightful bonus frame to boot!  Simply click on the image to go to the download.  You will have to check out in the store, but won’t be charged anything.

Link to Friday Freebie

Miss Vickie hosted a crop last weekend at Daisie that was quite successful and her cheerful demeanor and excitement for scrapbooking was infectious!  I heard from lots of ladies at DAISIE that they were thinking about picking up scrapbooking again, but this time using digital scrapping mixed with the paper supplies they already own.

If you can’t be with your Mother for Mother’s Day, perhaps you might want to make her a scrapbook page of your own Mother’s Day with her grandchildren?  Take a digital camera to your celebration and decide to scrap it in one hour when you get home.  Believe it or not it’s easy to do.  Look at the galleries at your favorite digiscrapping site like http://www.daisiecompany.com/galleries/

When you find a layout you love, use it for inspiration.  Do you like the way a particular layout looks?  I found this one by "scrapperlicious" a delightful woman that posts on our boards and galleries but who lives in Malaysia!  She has a blog that you can read for inspiration about scrapbooking and is very committed to teaching and inspiring others to scrap.  There aren’t very many scrappers in her country, so she would love it if you dropped in on her and left her a comment!

Great example of scrapbooking

For more close-ups and details, you can refer to http://scrapperlicious.blogspot.com

How do you "borrow" another’s inspiration without being a copy cat?  Ask yourself a few questions.  "What do I like the most about this layout?  Is it the colors?  Is it the way the pictures are stacked/displayed?  Is it the embellishments?  What would I do differently?"  Use other’s works as starting points to get your creativity going and you might be surprised how easily your own creativity begins to flow!  You could take a design like scrapperlicious’ and using it as a springboard, create a layout that is similar in form but looks nothing like hers when you get your papers, art and photographs in it.
The most important thing to remember is to HAVE FUN!  There is no "right or wrong" way to scrap your priceless memories.  To borrow a well-known phrase from NIKE "Just Do It!"

A Mother’s Day Bookmark, Clip Art Gift For You!

I have a present for you to give to your mother, grandmother or someone special in your life (I always was the kid who was good at "kissing up" to my friend’s parents Innocent).  This bookmark comes with a Mother message already on it or blank for you to personalize any way you would like.  If you don’t have a Mother to honor this Mother’s Day, perhaps you can make it as a little gift for an older woman in your neighborhood or at church to let her know she’s being thought of?

Link to freebie (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  Perhaps Mother’s day is a little difficult for you to celebrate.  Either your mother has passed on, of perhaps wasn’t the Mother you always dreamed of having.  You read the card racks and just can’t pick one without feeling uncomfortable.  For those who struggle with issues in this area, it can be painful to hear stories about incredible mothers or hear about how "wonderful all Mothers are," when your experience has been so different.

But perhaps taking the time to think about someone who WAS special to you and nurtured you (whether she was your mother or not) can help you enjoy the holiday a little more.  Thinking about the relationships you’ve chosen to have with the special people around you can actually start a journey toward healing for your heart.  Family is a rather involuntary enlistment… but friends are chosen with care… and special friends that are like family can make up for so much that might be lacking in our lives.

So… if you’re blessed to have the most amazing mother ever, celebrate her!  If your mother did as good a job as she was capable of doing, honor her effort.  If you are thrilled that your mother gave you birth — rejoice in what you can!  If you’re a mother yourself, delight in the honor that your children bestow upon you and enjoy your special day. Happy Mother’s Day!

To download your gift, simply click on the image and save to your computer.  This gift is subject to the DAISIE COMPANY angel policy.  Thanks for visiting!

Link to QVC

Oh by the way, if you click on the picture there’s a link to a scrapbook kit that I designed for QVC if you’re looking for a non-digital gift for a scrapbooking friend or family member.  Super easy to use even if you aren’t artsy!  It is made from my Blue Hydrangea and Cottage Garden art.

I’ve shown a closeup of the 3D on just one of the pages, these are raised and have jewels on them as well.  They’re really fun and elegant.  What I haven’t shown are the letter stickers of two different Alphabets and several pages of die cut pop outs (no cutting involved for the clumsy of hand!)

The entire kit includes:

  • 12" x 12" album with 10 sheet protectors
  • 24 double-sided printed flat papers
  • three embellished paper sheets
  • six alphabet sticker sheets
  • two phrase sticker sheets
  • two icon sticker sheets
  • four die-cut sheets
  • two 3-D embellished picture frames
  • two self-adhesive resin frames
  • Contains hundreds of pieces  and is only $30.  Link HERE.

  • What’s New at DAISIE COMPANY? LOTS!

First, the Friday Freebie is utterly adorable!  Baby girl bears by Eline Pelinsky are absolutely too cute!

Friday FreebieTo purchase/download any of these items, simply click on its picture and a window will pop up and take you there.

Are you in a panic realizing that Mother's Day is just 10 days away?  Before you start hyperventilating… what is the one thing that Mothers and Grandmothers can never have enough of no matter how rich or poor they are?  Pictures of their kids and grandkids!!!

So… how about creating a mini brag book or sending a scrapbook with starter scrapbook pages and add on for every holiday?  You can make gift giving easy, inexpensive and most importantly PRICELESS.  Today, 2 kits of precreated png scrapbook pages are available at DAISIE COMPANY.  There are 3 pages in one and 2 pages in the second.  They are designed to mix and match, flip the pages over and make even more layouts.  Reduce them to 8" or even 6" size and make a mini brag book for Grandmas.

scrapbook pagesThere are three complete sets of blue hydrangeas scrapbook page duos (one is a trio).  Create one book and print a set for yourself, then print additional copies for each Grandmother and they'll never know how easy it was!

Another idea, there two kits of clip art available that these precreated page kits were created out of.  Create a beautiful "mat" to highlight a family photo or special snapshot for Mom and send it to her in the frame of your choosing.  There are many precreated frames in each of these kits that will finish off your photo very nicely.  If you print the "mat" on cardstock and then mount that cardstock on a chipboard base with an opening cut larger than your mat's opening, you will create a lovely shadowbox effect very easily.  Also, you will keep your photograph from touching the glass which will keep it safe from condensation.

In addition to the scrapbook sets, I've created a matching take out gift box and mini bag kit with tags, so if you have any other goodies for you Mother or Grandmother you can package them to match!  This set is Ready for Mother's Day but also contains blank designs for you to customize for any occasion.  There are a bunch of tags and a mini gift card included in the set too, mix and match to make an adorable gift.

link to kitI won't post pictures of each, but if you scroll down through my blog, you'll see each of the sets shown in previews.  Then to get to them for purchase, notice the DAISIE COMPANY LOGO to the right?  That's a live link to my catalog at THE DAISIE COMPANY.

My perfectly Peachy sets came out today also, the 43 pc. set #1 and the 38 pc text add on for Mothers and Grandmothers (and blank for any occasion).

What ever you do for Mother's Day, make sure your Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother or any other special lady who's been like a mother to you  knows you love and appreciate her very much!

A Free Gift For Those That Grieve

Many of my readers love to express their love in gifts made from their hands.  When people mourn, a thoughtful, special gift can provide deep and lasting comfort.  With this in mind, and in honor of those who are grieving an inconsolable loss with the passing of their loved ones at Virginia Tech this week, I’ve designed this memorial bookmark.

     Link to download

To download it, simply click on the picture and it will begin the downloading process.  This bookmark is in a png format so that you can simply drop the picture of the loved one behind it, size their picture and add their name or other information in the opening and make as many as you wish.  The terms of this freebie are according to the Daisie company Angel policy, but for this download I will consider one loss as a single use.

The lovely lady shown on the sample bookmark I created is Kathy Cornford.  She was a dear, dear friend that lost her battle with Breast Cancer on June 10th of 2006.  We miss her dearly.  The year has been a long one with many thoughts of her and tears shed in her memory.  She was a woman of great character.  Incredibly wise and funny… she was always a joy to be around.  In her most intense suffering she was consumed with thoughts of those around her.  I was blessed to have been one of those she thought of.

Feel free to share and pass it along to those that are grieving.  We send prayers for comfort and peace from our hearts to accompany it.

A Mother’s Day Gift Bag I Made From Gina Jane Johnson’s Freebie Gift Bag!

With all of the excitement around DAISIE Company today (they had a fabulous One Year Birthday Bash, with freebies, give aways and a crop using the Friday Freebie Template linked in the post before this one), I just couldn't create at the same time as I was in the chat room and on the message boards reading and answering questions.  I'm not as good a multi-tasker as many of the women.  So once everything quieted down, I pulled out Gina Jane's template and had a little fun!

     Sample made up gift bag

This mini bag is the result.  Her template was extremely easy to work with, to cut, score and fold.  I would rate it as a 1 on a 1-5 scale of difficulty.  If you know how to drag, drop and move objects around and can cut, score and fold a simple object this one's for you!

For additional ideas go to http://www.daisiecompany.com/galleries/index.php and check out the gallery for all the amazingly lovely creations that were made during the crop event today.

This template comes blank, you will have to utilize your own graphics to make it.  If you had participated in the crop event today you would have received a free art kit to use with the template.  So, mark your calendar as next Saturday, there's another crop coming!  There will be free prizes, and the subject of the crop will be making a Pabric nightlight!  A very fun and beautiful project.

2 Friday Freebies at DAISIE Company (Again!)

(UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  This Friday, my mini metal embellishments kit is one of the two Friday Freebies:

The second is a template for making a small gift bag, courtesy of Gina Jane.  There is a crop event this afternoon at 1 PM EST (you must register for the DAISIE Company’s message boards in order to be able to access the crop). It is being held in the chat room, the link to which is located at the very top of the message boards.  There will be prizes given away all day as a special birthday celebration day for DAISIE’S one year birthday!

Here is Gina Jane Johnson’ template.  Gina is the founder of The Daisie Company, and a wonderful digital artist (and person as well!)

    Link to free template

This bag is ready to use with your graphics to create a beautiful gift presentation for someone special.

To receive your freebies, click on the picture and a separate window will open up that will take you to the DAISIE Company store.  You will need to register to purchase, but there will be no charge.  Make sure you select receive extras (or something similar to that wording!) and you will receive some emails from time to time with really special goodies attached.

Check out the crop, it’s happening right now! There is an extra freebie that is available only from 1-4 PM EST today and then will be taken down.  It’s another special Birthday gift that DAISIE Company is giving in appreciation for the wonderful community that has grown up in this last year!

The place to start is on the Message Board, there’s an announcement at the top that reads: DAISIE COMPANY BIRTHDAY PARTY MAIN POST START HERE  It will give you instructions and the link to the extra freebie.  You’ll want to download GJ’s bag template then go to the message board where there’s a crop thread going or if you’re a chatroom pro, check out the chat room.  It’s too fast for some people to keep up with so that’s why the two meeting places!  Have fun!

    Special thanks to Atomic Cupcake.

Two Beautiful Friday Freebies at D.A.I.S.I.E. Company!

(UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  There is always a Friday Freebie at The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company, but today is extra-special because there are two!  I don’t think you could get farther apart in style either… there’s something for everyone at Daisie.

    Friday Freebie

Tricia Peterson is a new artist to D.A.I.S.I.E. Company and has some fabulous tropical beach sets that coordinate with the freebie.  I love her style and I know you will too!

If you click on the picture of the freebie, it is a link that will take you to the store.  Click on purchase (you won’t be charged) and it will take you through the process.  Take a little time to look around in the shop and you’ll find some of the most beautiful and functional digital art on the net.

A lot of other sites have digitally created scrapbooking items, but very few are based on real, hand painted artwork.  Almost everything at Daisie has been created by the hand of real artists.

The second Friday Freebie is an Easter card created by Lynnie Smith.

    Freebie link

This card was created for her children’s class and she shares it with all of us.  Thanks so much to both Tricia and Lynnie for the generous, sharing spirits!

If there’s any specific clip art you need to create or complete a project, the chances are that in the over 900 kits that are available at DAISIE you’ll be able to find what you need.

    Happy Easter!  He is Risen!

Especially For Moms “Making Easter Week Special”

When we take time ahead of a special holiday to prepare for it, talk about it, and stretch it out so it lasts a little longer, it’s sooooo much more fun for our kids!  Even if you’re busy, (okay, the reality is WE’RE ALL TOO BUSY!) taking a few extra minutes each day can make all the difference in how our families experience the holiday.Easter greeting

You know, it really isn’t the big things, the big events, the big trips that our children remember when they’re grown and gone — it’s little things that were done consistently that make the most lasting impression.  Every time I ask the question, "What was special about your Mom?" I get responses that indicate it was the little, caring things she did on a regular basis that added up to feeling loved and special to her.

Okay, today is Monday, so you still have an entire week before Easter!  What if you did one special little thing each day this week, do you think it could be possible to make this one of the most memorable Easters your kids will have ever had?

It can be as simple as making a note each day for their lunch box.  You don’t have to be an artist, your child will love it if you use his or her crayons and draw some simple Easter eggs!  If you write all your notes at once and put one each day in their lunch, it doesn’t even have to take too much time.  You could even cut out some Easter decorative images from a magazine and glue them to cardstock… your child won’t be judging your art skills, they’ll be basking in the love you’re expressing for them.

If you’re digitally inclined, use some of the D.A.I.S.I.E. Company digital clip art and you can make some beautiful treats with very little effort.  There are some wonderful Easter-oriented kits available there and here are even some FREE resources for you to make use of:

    1. Make "Nugget Buddies" to put in their lunch for a special Easter treat.  This Friday Freebie is absolutely the cutest thing!!!  ((UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).
    2. Make them a special book mark using this Friday Freebie and add your own Easter message: (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month
    3. Use my Free Craft Kit from last week (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).and make a little basket of blessings.  Add a text message to the template before you print it out and craft it or simply add the message to one of the tags and you can personalize it for your child.  You’ll find that post, seven posts down from this one or here:http://www.daisiecompany.com/blogs/audreyjeanne/?p=74
    4. My dearest friend, Karla Dornacher has two special freebies that you can make use of.  A set of Easter eggs on her blog and a basket with egg stands (you can also use them as napkin rings in your child’s lunch).  Karla’s blog is always linked in my blog roll, but you can also find it here: http://www.karladornacher.typepad.com/ and you can find her website link on her blog or here: http://www.karladornacher.com/  A side note here, you can sign up for Karla’s newsletter on her website and there’s always an encouraging word and a craft freebie in each month’s edition.

For those of you for whom Easter has a deep and significant spiritual importance, don’t forget to make use of this week to help your child focus on the real reason we celebrate Easter.  Depending on the age of your child, perhaps you might read a story book that tells the story in childlike terms.  For older children, at breakfast or dinner, read a little more from the bible story each day leading up to Resurrection Sunday.  Help them to enter into the story themselves by asking questions like "How would you have felt as you saw Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey with the crowd cheering?  What would you have done?  Would you have laid a palm branch on the street in front of him too?"

Some of my most treasured memories of Easter were the crafting days my Mom and I had together.  Perhaps you might take the time to utilize some of the above resources with your kids to have them make special gifts for their teachers, grandparents, an elderly neighbor or a close friend.

I pray that this will be one of the most treasured of all Easters for you and your family.  If any of you know some more free resources to utilize, feel free to share them in the comments section!

An Easter Gift for You, A Craft Kit Freebie

I wanted to give all of you a small Easter present, so today I made up this fun "Chinese Take Out" Easter Basket Box with my Gerbera Daisie Clip art kit.  The box is perfect for year around use, but with the Easter egg gift card it’s a perfect little container to make for a small Easter gift or candy treats, cookies or?  Finished size is 4" tall by 3 1/2" square.  The kit requires a color printer and 4 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock, scissors, double stick tape or glue and 12" of wire for the handle.  Finish it off with the ribbon or trim or your choice and you’re done!

Link to free downloadThe photo doesn’t show the color well, but the box is a light aqua blue with yellow, orange and pink Gerbera Daisies.  Also included is a second Easter egg and another gift card for everyday use.

I hope that you and your family have a very special Easter celebration if you celebrate the holiday.  Every blessing I hold dear in my life has its roots in the most precious gift of love that Jesus Christ gave me on that first Easter.  While I was still a sinner, he died for me that I might live with him forever.  He loved me enough to give his life for me alone (even if I were the only sinner on Earth) and I am forever grateful.  He loves each of us with a powerful and unfathomable love far beyond our finite capability to understand.

That is the joy of my Easter and it is a joy I’ll never stop celebrating!  Blessings to you and yours.

(UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  To download your kit, click on the photo to the left and it will take you to the download window.  When you finish, you can click go back to come back here or head to your crafting table.  HAPPY EASTER!

(Note: the missing file has been replaced if your download didn’t have 4 jpeg pages, redownload and all is well!)
