Low Cost Graphics Program For Beginners at The Daisie Company by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

The people who visit my blog are in two categories, somewhat exerienced digital scrapbookers or crafters and those who have absolutely no idea how to work with graphics but would love to!!!  For those of you in the later category, there’s a very inexpensive and very easy to learn program available at the Daisie Company.  It costs only $24.95 and can be found at this link: www.daisiecompany.com/cart/index.php

This program will also help you organize all of your photos if you have a digital camera. You can view, sort and even import your photos into a scrapbooking layouts that you can create within the program.

If you want to create your own gifts to give for special occasions such as recipe cards, bag toppers for cookie mixes or other food-oriented gifts, this little program will do it all!  You’ll be amazed at how professional your crafts can look with the beautiful art that is available at THE DAISIE COMPANY.  Also, if you’re just not very artistic… THE DAISIE COMPANY has precreated printables that all you have to do is print and assemble!!!  There are soup can labels, Christmas kits for "Snowman Soup," all sorts of party kits and notecards, recipe cards… just an amazing arrayof goodies that you can create for yourself or to give as gifts.

There is a forum at the Daisie Company message board (http://www.daisiecompany.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=38with) a place to ask any questions that you might have and the (mostly) ladies there are very helpful.  If you have always wanted to be able to use your computer and printer in artistic and crafty ways but haven’t known how to do so, this is a great way to start.

By the way, the graphics you see in the image are a free kit that is included in the purchase cost.  I hope that if you’ve been thinking about taking the plunge to learn digital scrapping or digital crafting that this will help!

THE PROVERB OF THE DAY: Prov 20:4-5  A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing. The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.

Autumn Glory 1 Digital Clip Art for Fall, by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

(UPDATE:  This ki is now available for $5.98 at Daisie.  Just click on the first picture to go to the store)  digital clip art preview for Autumn or FallI wanted to give you the sneak peek for the Autumn Glory 1 Digital Art Kit that will be debuting on Tuesday in The DAISIE company store.  It will be $5.98 and includes 34 pieces of art.

Included in the kit are: 6 incredibly textured rusted embellishments, 3 borders, 5 tags, 12 art pieces, 1 text piece, 4 frames, and 3 complimentary papers

All of my kits are created from original hand watercolored paintings and then some of the pieces are digitally enhanced from there.  The rusted metal and glass techniques are special thanks to atomic cupcake.

second preview Autumn or Fall digital clip artThe colors of this kit are deep and rich and there will be an additional paper pack that will release on Friday that coordinates with it.

Do you have an oversized printer?  If so, you can create some great placemats.  I made some years ago with Thankgiving (or fall for non-Americans!) on one side and Christmas on the other.  I laminated them and they have held up really well with heavy use.

Preview 3 Digital clip art for autumn or fall If you don’t have an oversized printer, try using a sheet of paper, butcher paper or a coordinating wrapping paper with a stripe or good neutral pattern.  You can also print two sheets of normal sized paper and double stick tape or glue them together.  Cut out your elements and glue them to the mat, add lettering and laminate if you can.  This is a great project for kids too.  You can cut out the paper for them to decorate and simply print out the elements, letting them cut them out and place as they wish.

Your digital art can be great "art kits" for your kids to make cards with.  All you have to do is print out the pieces as above and let their imaginations go wild.  It’s also a great way to use up extra or left over scrapbooking supplies and encourage your kids creativity at the same time.  I’ll have some more ideas to share about what to do with your kids once the winter sets in and they can’t run, jump and play outdoors… for now just rejoice that they can!

Digital Clip Art & Crafting Christmas Gift Bags, Cards and Tags Kit Coming Next Week, by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

Those of you that have read my blog for a while, will remember that I was working on a large sized gift bag set that could be printed out on ledger-sized paper (11" x 17") for those of you that have over-size printers.  It took quite a bit of work to reinforce the bag handles so that they wouldn’t tear, but I finally finished the templates this week and then created this Victorian Classic Christmas set that will be coming out next week.

Preview Christmas giftbags

I don’t know about you, but having gift bags around the house makes gift wrapping so much easier and less overwhelming for me!  I can especially never have enough gift bags at Christmas time… so I really designed these for myself (and you get to tag along!)

UPDATE:  Several of the comments have mentioned that you don’t have a ledger-sized printer.  One nice thing about my including all of the sizes is that IF you do eventually purchase a larger sized printer, you will already own the files to use it.  It’s amazing how fast you can discover the need for the larger sized capability once you have it!  Also the paper I used for this printing can be ordered on line for those of you in the USA, It came from Kelly Paper and is called "Mohawk Color Copy Gloss"  Kelly paper’s website is www.kellypaper.com.

I printed mine out on a heavy weight gloss, brochure paper and reinforced the handles with white card stock. Brochure paper gives them that beautiful sheen and brighter color of store-bought bags.  You could also print them on card stock or the heaviest weight of paper that you can find.

The kit will make three size of bags, the large size as described on the preview image, a medium sized bag (10" x 6" x 4") that prints on legal sized paper and a smaller ( 8" x 5" x 3 1/2" ) sized bag that prints on letter size paper.  Four sheets of paper are required per bag.

Preview gift cards and tags

The kit also includes a pair of small gift  cards and 6 gift tags.  The image from the front of the bag is included with and without the bow.   I would encourage those of you that purchase the kit to make these in advance and store them away for Christmas and it will make your holiday that much more pleasant and less rushed.  You can carefully fold them up after assembling them to store them more easily.

The DAISIE COMPANY’S "Christmas in July" sale will go through the end of the month and all of my Christmas kits (even these new ones) are included.  For less than the price of 2 gift bags purchased at the store, you can make these for the rest of your life!

THE PROVERB OF THE DAY:  Proverbs 18:4-6  "Many words rush along like rivers in flood, but deep wisdom flows up from artesian springs.  It’s not right to go easy on teh guilty, or come down hard on the innocent.  The words of a fool start fights; do him a favor and gag him."  The Message Bible

I’m Ready For Some Snow, Jingle Bells and Sleighs! Digital Christmas Clip Art Kit Preview by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

Well… maybe not… at least until the next 100 plus degree day hits!!!

Christmas Digital Clip Art

UPDATE: THIS KIT IS NOW AVAILABLE IN THE DAISIE COMPANY STORE.  THE PICTURE IS A CLICKABLE LINK.  IT’S ALSO ON SALE THROUGH THE 30TH AT 25% OFF SO GET IT WHILE IT’S HOT!!!  It is so strange to be working on Christmas in the middle of July, but that’s my normal procedure as when you develop product for licensing you are working 6-12 months out or more.  So turn on the "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night" and let’s get in the mood for Christmas.

This collection is called "Holly Berry Christmas" and features everything holly.  It’s based on the Classic Christmas colors and theme and will easily coordinate with almost any Christmas art you already own to make lots of beautiful new crafts and projects.

I’m not exactly certain when it will make its debut, but soon!

I Lied… One More Sneak Preview! Fourth of July Clip Art, Flags, Stars ‘n Stripes ‘n More! by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

UPDATE:  THIS WILL BE IN THE STORE TODAY, BUT HAS BEEN DELAYED BY COMPUTER DIFFICULTIES SO PLEASE BE PATIENT !

I found some art that I had forgotten that I had created (that happens frequently when you have 700GB of art on your computer!)  I hadn’t been sure that I could pull off getting it in on time for release this Friday, so I didn’t say anything about it.  Betcha didn’t believe that I could keep a secret so well did you?!  So I’m doing a last minute sneak peek!

Patriotic Clip Art for the Fourth of July I’ve shown the tiniest portion of this set, it’s a smaller set, but it has 3 different types of bunting, star borders, stripes borders, striped papers, frames, a text piece suitable for framing and a bookmark.  Bright, colorful and patriotic (for those of you in the United States) this set can be used to create invitations to a BBQ, make annoucements for your community’s parade, to create military salute pages or greeting cards for projects such as our recent Cards for the injured troops at Daisie Company.

Hope your plans for the Fourth of July this year include taking lots of wonderful family photos and if you do, be sure to scrap them for your family!

PS  There’s a special coupon that will be good at DAISIE COMPANY through July 14th, make sure you enter the coupon code when prompted!  The coupon is a clickable link to the DAISIE COMPANY STORE.  It will take you to the new releases section of the store, where this kit and all of the tropical and summer kits featured this week will be available tomorrow.

UPDATE: PLEASE USE COUPON CODE summer-day2, the first code was not working properly for some reason.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

Beach, Tropical Clip Art Kit Preview, Coming Friday. By Audrey Jeanne Roberts

Getting back to work after relaxing too thoroughly is a challenge!  But the fun part is that I have these previews ready to show you of Tropical Breeze 2 which is coming out this Friday!

Beach, tropical clip art previewThere are several text art frames that can be used for journaling, making a greeting card out of, a candy wrapper or?  The possibilities are endless!

There are a bunch of palm trees that have been isolated out of the paintings so that you can place them anywhere that works for you.

Also there is quite a bit of summery tropical bright papers and goodies that will work for a lot more than purely beach or tropical themes.

I’ve created a purely clouds paper that can be very useful as well as a purely beach/ocean paper.

Tropical bright papers and clip art

There is so much in this set that I’ll have to take a couple of days to show you all of it!  Plus I also have my Summer Fun 1 set coming out this week too.  The rest of this week will have to be full of sneak peeks!

Remember, my blog contest ends on the 30th with the winner being announced the 1st of July.  Just leave a comment on any of this month’s posts and you are eligible to win.  The prize will be your choice of one of the two sets of Tropical Breeze Premade scrapbook pages.

Calla Lily clip art preview

These striking Red and Yellow Calla lillies grew in my garden but are a tropical flower that could be used in many ways.  The border at the top is a thatched woven pattern with a texturized edge.

I hope your summer is starting out with a bang!  Have a great one!

THE PROVERB FOR THE DAY: Proverbs 26:1-3  "Clear my name, God; I’ve kept an honest shop.  I’ve thrown in my lot with you, God and I’m not budging.  Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests.  Make sure I’m fit inisde and out so I never lose sight of your love, but keep in step with you, never missing a beat."  The Message

More Summer Clip Art Coming Soon! First peek today, by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

I spent most of my day yesterday writing on my new book, which will be out in time for next year’s Mother’s Day.  I love writing (as those of you who read the insane volume of words I seem to produce here on a routine basis know!) but disciplined writing with a complete plan and step-by-step process just totally drains me.  My office is in the center of the house when Jacqui is home for the summer, so I can get a little cranky with the rest of my housemates !   The slightest noise disturbs me, so Jacqui loaned me her Ipod loaded with her Christian Contemporary music, great headphones and I was in my own world rocking out!

Preview of Summer Fun Clip Art KitSo, once I’d wrung every last little bit of writing energy out of myself, I turned to finishing up a new kit that I’ll be debutting soon.  It is "Summer Fun 1" and has a more poolside orientation than my Tropical Breeze collections though they will work wonderfully together.

There are a bunch of really fun borders, pool toys, chairs, umbrellas, flip flops that are separate and plain so you can decorate them.  I’ve shown them with their "flower" top.

Well, back to the word processing for now, hope you enjoy the peek!

Beach, Tropical Clip Art Paper Pack and Perfectly Peachy Paper Pack Previews by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

(UPDATE:  This product is now available in the DAISIE COMPANY STORE.  Just click on the picture and a window will pop up to take you to the product)

I absolutely LOVE this tropical paper pack, I am thinking of about a hundred design uses I want to explore with it.  The warm, vibrant pinks, oranges and greens would work well with the teen and younger set and my twenty-something daughters love it too.

Tropical Clip Art Paper Pack Preview, green, orange, pinks.

There are fourteen backgrounds in the pack, all of which coordinate very well together.  There will be at least two more paper packs for this set, one will be in natural tans and sandy tones and another in blues and purples.

Perfectly Peachy Paper Pack has some very fun papers that could be used for wedding, anniversary, little girls, and everyday scrapping or craft uses.

Perfectly Peach Paper Pack PreviewThere are embroiderec dot swirls, scattered rose paterns, a tone on tone scatter rose pattern, distressed and aged patterns as well as some contemporary sketched swirl patterns.  A perfect mix of traditional roses made new with a contemporary flair.  I can’t wait to see what you will do with them!

These paper packs will be available on Friday in the DAISIE COMPANY store.

THE PROVERB FOR THE DAY, PROVERBS 12:14-16 (from The Message)  "Well-spoken words bring satisfaction; well-done work has its own reward.  Fools are headstrong and do what they like, wise people take advice.  Fools have short fuses and explode all too quickly., the prudent quietly shrug off insults."

Summer Clip Art From the Tropics! Beaches, Palm Trees, Beach Chairs… Makes me Want to Play!!! by Audrey Jeanne Roberts

(UPDATE:  This product is now available in THE DAISIE COMPANY STORE.  Just click on either picture and it will take you to the product.)  Okay, today is sneak, sneak peek day!  Here’s one of my sets that will be in the store on Friday, the other is "Perfectly Peachy 2."

Tropical Breeze 1 clip art kit, beaches, palm trees, beach chairs and more

This art isn’t just for scrapbooking tropical vacations or cruises!  It is extremely versatile and can be used for any summer craft purpose.  There are beach chairs, beach umbrellas, palm trees, water-inspired backgrounds, and so much more that could be used to create party invitations, greeting cards, party table decorations… you supply the imagination and I have supplied the art that can bring it to life!

My daughters’ bathroom is in a tropical feel and I’m going to surprise her by creating some iron on patches that I’ll stitch to her guest towels, perhaps with a "Welcome" sign in tiki lettering.  I’m going to have some fun playing with this, with my girls in mind (shhhh… don’t tell them!)  I’m probably safe, I can’t get my kids to read "Mom’s blog" very often anyway!

There are seven assorted backgrounds in this kit and I have created a ton more of them that will be released as coordinating paper packs.  The tiki lettering kit isn’t finished yet, but will be out soon to allow you to write any message you want in bamboo, large sized letters.  In addition, there will be a pre-assembled title page that will be geared towards vacations and cruises.

bamboo, frames, tropical beach clip art previews

My daughters are especially loving these kits (they’re 20 somethings!) and having been born and raised in San Diego, love anything related to the beach!

I’ve created some quick page duos that will be coming out next week and I’ll preview them in the next day or so.  Even if you don’t buy the quick pages, they can be very helpful to show you how you might combine some of the elements in your own projects and I never mind you "borrowing" some inspiration!  Have fun, summer is only 9 days away!!!!

Brand New Baby Clip Art & Premade Scrapbook Pages Coming Soon!

Lora politely asked me if I had a preview ready to show you all yesterday… yesterday I didn't yet, but today I do!  I've been feverishly working on assembling a new baby/toddler art collection to expand my offerings at the DAISIE COMPANY.  There will be two clip art kits that will both be mixed with boy/girl/either art in each.  There will be a Paper pack (or 2), an alphabet (or 2) and there will be a tags n text kit as well.

Little boy clip art samples

In addition, I have already created Scrapbook Quick Page duos for a boy, a girl and two sets that go either or.  They are made out of the wonderful warm and vibrant pastels colors that are popular with today's young parents.

There are nearly 50 pieces in each kit already, with a wide variety of color options on the various elements such as rick rack trim, scalloped frames, buttons, bows, embroidered lace and cross stitch trims.

The text kit wll have the titles that you see shown in the scrapbook pages, which were hand lettered and hand watercolored by me.  There's also two poems illustrated and included, one an original Audrey Jeanne Verse and the other from the favorite children's song "Jesus, Loves Me" (layout also included without text on this one).

If you are like most moms and did a lot of baby book work on child #1 and almost nothing on child 2, 3 or 4, the instant scrapbook pages can go a long way to help you catch up on that task!  Add some journaling, details of weight, length and birth information and you will have an instant heirloom for your children.

Use some of the precreated pages and then create your own to match by printing and assembling your scrapbook pages in a hybrid fashion (part digital, part layered with embellishments) and you'll have your family believing you spent an amazing amount of time, energy and money when it will cost you little of each.

Little girl clip art

The font I've used with this collection in hand lettering is also going to be available as a true type font as soon as I can get it prepared.

I hope you'll enjoy using this art to create greeting cards, birth announcements, and all sorts of other baby oriented gifts!

Please tell me anything that you think I've missed on these kits or would like to see.  You guys have great ideas and I very much enjoy hearing from you!

Also, we're half way through the month and the blog contest continues.  Remember, you're entered automatically when you leave a comment and you earn extra entries when you refer my blog to your friends and family and tell me so.

The winner will receive my "Perfectly Peachy 2" kit, which will be releasing as soon as I can get it finished, but the winner may receive it before it makes it out to the store!

Have a great Spring day!

Free Recipe Card Download of Digital Clip Art, Gift From DAISIE COMPANY

THE DAISIE COMPANY has a free gift for you, of beautiful recipe cards that were made by DAISIE COMPANY members just like you!  These were created in a contest where individuals designed their own recipe cards using the wonderful art and graphics available for sale at THE DAISIE COMPANY.  When you see these amazing cards, remember that ordinary people with no special graphics skills were able to create these layouts.  It’s not as hard as you think!  Each comes with a recipe and a blank version.  To download the files, click on the image and then save them to your computer.  This is a large download so be patient!  (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).

link to download

Have you ever tried making your own recipe cards?  Tuck one in the plate of chocolate chip cookies you make as a get well gift with the recipe you used and watch the recipient’s face light up!  If you’ve never tried working with graphics, most computers come with a simple graphics program like "Paint."  Play around with it and see what you can do.  At the very least, you’ll be able to take the blank versions of these cards and add your own recipe to it.

DAISIE COMPANY TERMS OF USE

The DAISIE COMPANY’S website is www.daisiecompany.com.  You can sign up for their newsletter and receive information about what’s happening at DAISIE and special little gifties like these on a quarterly basis.  I WILL NOT ALWAYS HAVE THE RECIPE CARDS AVAILABLE ON THIS BLOG, SO IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE ALL OF THEM YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN UP AT DAISIE!  Once you do, check out the website a little.  There are forums for digital scrapbooking and digital paper crafting, forums for Microsoft’s Digital Imaging Pro (DIP), Corel’s Paint Shop Pro (PSP), Adobe’s Photoshop Elements (PSE) and several other smaller graphics programs.  There’s a forum called "DAISIE General How-To’s" that’s a great place to begin.  There’s also a lot of praying, sharing, caring and laughing with each other that happens in the General Chat forum

DAISIE’S message board is a very real, very caring, VERY FUN place to hang out while you learn more about digital scrapbooking or crafting.  I can’t say it nearly as well as Mary Roberson, who’s screen name is "Handmade Heartfelt" has here:

"I have owned a computer for 10 years, but had never learned to work with graphics. That is, until I found DAISIE, through Stacey Thomas. I desperately wanted to learn how to make pretty greeting cards and craft projects like those
I saw other people making. What makes DAISIE unique from other message boards is that the members share tips and advice about how to use the graphics and how to work with software programs that allow you to turn graphics into projects that you design.

I had given up hope that I’d ever be able to do more than use printable sets to print ready made projects, but Stacey didn’t give up on me. She told me to stick around the community and come to the online crops and told me she believed I could do it. She encouraged me (as did other members) that once I learned a few basic tips, a whole new world would open up to me, and it has! I never understood the concept of digital scrapbooking until I came to DAISIE. LibMary has good information for beginners, with screen shot visuals, which I find very helpful because I can see the exact steps she has taken to complete her project. There are tutorials to help the beginner, but more than that, you have wonderfully patient people who hold your hand and guide you along the way."

If you want to learn more, here are some resources that I gathered simply by asking a question on the message board yesterday.  Here are the wonderful replies I received:

  1. Barbara said: "PhotoImpact is one that I’ve used and there are some fantastic resources for those who are trying to learn it at www.pircnet.com (including a beginner’s workshop which pairs them with a mentor that helps them through a series of lessons designed to familiarize them with the different tools – all free of charge).   www.visual-arts-academy.com is another resource for several different programs and the cost of the lessons is low for the amount of information."
  2. Margie said: "A great place online to learn software is LVS – www.lvsonline.com. The courses are $25 / $20 for returning students. They last 6 weeks. I’ve taken many courses from them and most have been excellent."
  3. DAISIE is having a custom browser program developed that will store your graphics and also help you create things with them.  It is in the last stages of development and will be extraordinarily well priced.  Stacey Thomas of DAISIE COMPANY said yesterday "We are still testing it out, but free trials of their higher priced software can be had at www.fxfoto.com"
  4. Tracy said: "You’re probably already aware of scrapgirls.com where they have several free tutorials and a lot of one you have to read. Also Linda Sattgast has several CD’s for sale that are really good at explaining the basics of PSE 4 and 5. That website is scrappersguide.com."
  5. Cheryl said: Inkscape and Gimp(similar to Photoshop) are free. Gimp is the most popular one that I come across in the instructional technology field but it isn’t the easiest to learn. There’s a list of freebies here at wikipedia
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Graphics_tutorials

There’s whole new world waiting for you and a lot of new friends waiting to help you discover it, just give it a try!

Are You Ready For Mother’s Day?! A Friday Freebie in Case You Aren’t!

If you aren’t ready for Mother’s Day yet, perhaps I can help you just a little with the free Mother’s Day Bookmark I have a couple of posts down.  Use this as is, or use the blank bookmark to create your own for your Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother or any other special lady in your life that you would like to honor.  While you’re at it, look at the Post categories to the right and click on freebies, there’s quite a few goodies here that might help you make your day special for your Mom (or for my UK/Aussie  friends "MUM!")

About 8 or 9 posts down is a link to a Mother’s Day Sentiment or Sayings kit with precreated messages using my art and original verse that is available at DAISIE COMPANY.  If you scroll down and then click on the image, it will take you to where you can purchase for only $5.98 and download the kit immediately (with plenty of time to spare for Mother’s Day!)

(UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  These cute little elements are part of Vickie Hennessy’s Wildflower kit.  They were missing at the time of upload, so she has replaced them here for those who have the kit, and given them as a little bonus freebee for those who don’t… and included a delightful bonus frame to boot!  Simply click on the image to go to the download.  You will have to check out in the store, but won’t be charged anything.

Link to Friday Freebie

Miss Vickie hosted a crop last weekend at Daisie that was quite successful and her cheerful demeanor and excitement for scrapbooking was infectious!  I heard from lots of ladies at DAISIE that they were thinking about picking up scrapbooking again, but this time using digital scrapping mixed with the paper supplies they already own.

If you can’t be with your Mother for Mother’s Day, perhaps you might want to make her a scrapbook page of your own Mother’s Day with her grandchildren?  Take a digital camera to your celebration and decide to scrap it in one hour when you get home.  Believe it or not it’s easy to do.  Look at the galleries at your favorite digiscrapping site like http://www.daisiecompany.com/galleries/

When you find a layout you love, use it for inspiration.  Do you like the way a particular layout looks?  I found this one by "scrapperlicious" a delightful woman that posts on our boards and galleries but who lives in Malaysia!  She has a blog that you can read for inspiration about scrapbooking and is very committed to teaching and inspiring others to scrap.  There aren’t very many scrappers in her country, so she would love it if you dropped in on her and left her a comment!

Great example of scrapbooking

For more close-ups and details, you can refer to http://scrapperlicious.blogspot.com

How do you "borrow" another’s inspiration without being a copy cat?  Ask yourself a few questions.  "What do I like the most about this layout?  Is it the colors?  Is it the way the pictures are stacked/displayed?  Is it the embellishments?  What would I do differently?"  Use other’s works as starting points to get your creativity going and you might be surprised how easily your own creativity begins to flow!  You could take a design like scrapperlicious’ and using it as a springboard, create a layout that is similar in form but looks nothing like hers when you get your papers, art and photographs in it.
The most important thing to remember is to HAVE FUN!  There is no "right or wrong" way to scrap your priceless memories.  To borrow a well-known phrase from NIKE "Just Do It!"

A Mother’s Day Bookmark, Clip Art Gift For You!

I have a present for you to give to your mother, grandmother or someone special in your life (I always was the kid who was good at "kissing up" to my friend’s parents Innocent).  This bookmark comes with a Mother message already on it or blank for you to personalize any way you would like.  If you don’t have a Mother to honor this Mother’s Day, perhaps you can make it as a little gift for an older woman in your neighborhood or at church to let her know she’s being thought of?

Link to freebie (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  Perhaps Mother’s day is a little difficult for you to celebrate.  Either your mother has passed on, of perhaps wasn’t the Mother you always dreamed of having.  You read the card racks and just can’t pick one without feeling uncomfortable.  For those who struggle with issues in this area, it can be painful to hear stories about incredible mothers or hear about how "wonderful all Mothers are," when your experience has been so different.

But perhaps taking the time to think about someone who WAS special to you and nurtured you (whether she was your mother or not) can help you enjoy the holiday a little more.  Thinking about the relationships you’ve chosen to have with the special people around you can actually start a journey toward healing for your heart.  Family is a rather involuntary enlistment… but friends are chosen with care… and special friends that are like family can make up for so much that might be lacking in our lives.

So… if you’re blessed to have the most amazing mother ever, celebrate her!  If your mother did as good a job as she was capable of doing, honor her effort.  If you are thrilled that your mother gave you birth — rejoice in what you can!  If you’re a mother yourself, delight in the honor that your children bestow upon you and enjoy your special day. Happy Mother’s Day!

To download your gift, simply click on the image and save to your computer.  This gift is subject to the DAISIE COMPANY angel policy.  Thanks for visiting!

Link to QVC

Oh by the way, if you click on the picture there’s a link to a scrapbook kit that I designed for QVC if you’re looking for a non-digital gift for a scrapbooking friend or family member.  Super easy to use even if you aren’t artsy!  It is made from my Blue Hydrangea and Cottage Garden art.

I’ve shown a closeup of the 3D on just one of the pages, these are raised and have jewels on them as well.  They’re really fun and elegant.  What I haven’t shown are the letter stickers of two different Alphabets and several pages of die cut pop outs (no cutting involved for the clumsy of hand!)

The entire kit includes:

  • 12" x 12" album with 10 sheet protectors
  • 24 double-sided printed flat papers
  • three embellished paper sheets
  • six alphabet sticker sheets
  • two phrase sticker sheets
  • two icon sticker sheets

Are you in a panic realizing that Mother's Day is just 10 days away?  Before you start hyperventilating… what is the one thing that Mothers and Grandmothers can never have enough of no matter how rich or poor they are?  Pictures of their kids and grandkids!!!

So… how about creating a mini brag book or sending a scrapbook with starter scrapbook pages and add on for every holiday?  You can make gift giving easy, inexpensive and most importantly PRICELESS.  Today, 2 kits of precreated png scrapbook pages are available at DAISIE COMPANY.  There are 3 pages in one and 2 pages in the second.  They are designed to mix and match, flip the pages over and make even more layouts.  Reduce them to 8" or even 6" size and make a mini brag book for Grandmas.

scrapbook pagesThere are three complete sets of blue hydrangeas scrapbook page duos (one is a trio).  Create one book and print a set for yourself, then print additional copies for each Grandmother and they'll never know how easy it was!

Another idea, there two kits of clip art available that these precreated page kits were created out of.  Create a beautiful "mat" to highlight a family photo or special snapshot for Mom and send it to her in the frame of your choosing.  There are many precreated frames in each of these kits that will finish off your photo very nicely.  If you print the "mat" on cardstock and then mount that cardstock on a chipboard base with an opening cut larger than your mat's opening, you will create a lovely shadowbox effect very easily.  Also, you will keep your photograph from touching the glass which will keep it safe from condensation.

In addition to the scrapbook sets, I've created a matching take out gift box and mini bag kit with tags, so if you have any other goodies for you Mother or Grandmother you can package them to match!  This set is Ready for Mother's Day but also contains blank designs for you to customize for any occasion.  There are a bunch of tags and a mini gift card included in the set too, mix and match to make an adorable gift.

link to kitI won't post pictures of each, but if you scroll down through my blog, you'll see each of the sets shown in previews.  Then to get to them for purchase, notice the DAISIE COMPANY LOGO to the right?  That's a live link to my catalog at THE DAISIE COMPANY.

My perfectly Peachy sets came out today also, the 43 pc. set #1 and the 38 pc text add on for Mothers and Grandmothers (and blank for any occasion).

What ever you do for Mother's Day, make sure your Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother or any other special lady who's been like a mother to you  knows you love and appreciate her very much!
