Mother’s Day Clip Art Kit “Perfectly Peachy” Coming Friday

I've been trying to get this posted all day long.  It has been one of "those" days (hint, it's 9:31 PM and I'm still sitting at my computer Surprised)  So here's the previews for the second kit that will be out on Friday at THE DAISIE COMPANY.

 Mother's day kit preview

This kit is a text add on that has Mother and Grandmother sayings appropriate for many uses for Mother's Day, but it also has blank versions of everything so that you can create anything you want, in any language that you want.

Many of the quotations are original Audrey Jeanne Roberts' verses not available anywhere else for this format.  There are really fun "ornament-style" tags with gold trim that would be great layered onto a card, hanging from a package (each is two-sided so you could put them back to back for a two-sided ornament).

Mother's Day kit preview 2There are also Titles with gold hand lettered italic calligraphy by Audrey Jeanne, each is available in purely gold lettering and gold lettering with a torn paper backing surrounding it.  They are available in five versions Nana, Grandmum, Grandmother, Mother and Mum.

I hope you'll enjoy making a very special Mother's Day for your very special Mothers and Grandmothers!

Perfectly Peachy 1 Digital Clip Art Kit Previews

I wanted to give you a sneak, sneak peek.  It will be out Friday, and contains 43 pieces.  Lots of papers, frames, embellishments, art pieces and text pieces.

Preview of kit

As soon as I post this, I'll start to work on previews for the add on kit that will have Mother & Grandmother text pieces in it.  These of course will be wonderful for Mother's Day, but will also work for all year around for birthdays etc.  Each piece that is included will also be blank for your own text so it will be applicable for all occasions and those of you that are around the world and use many different languages.

Kit preview

This is one of the kits that I will be turning into a "Wedding in a Box," the other kit that will be done is the Blue Hydrangeas.  I have been working on them, but it is a very time-consuming process for the first kit(s) as I have to create the initial templates and envelope templates.  If only I could eliminate eating, sleeping and other necessary bodily functions!

Do You Wish You Could Scrapbook, But Have No Time or Space? Digiscrapping May Be Your Answer!

When I used to have to design old-fashioned scrapbook pages to create my framed print line for Cottage Garden Collections, I used to literally pull my hair out at how messy scrapbooking was.  It destroyed my studio, (which leans toward the disaster zone style of order anyway!)  I would be vacuuming up beads and glitter for ever!  Then somewhere about half way through the process, I figured out I could digitally design my kits, then print the separate elements and put together the 3D pages, VOILA… LOOK MOM!  NO MESS!

new kit link

Digital scrapbooking allows you to create totally flat, quick to produce scrapbook pages, or embellish those pages in what's becoming knows a Hybrid scrapbooking — a mix of traditional and digital.

My new product release this morning at DAISIE COMPANY is a quick, two page scrapbook layout that is in PNG format.  For only $2.98, you can purchase these ready-to-go pages.  All you have to do is drop your photographs in and size them, add your journaling and you're done.  The thing I love most about digiscrapping is that I can create a page for one of my daughters (where this layout came from) and give it to her, but once it's created I can now duplicate it for anyone, anytime!  Next Friday there will be two more sets released (see post below this one), one a two page and one a three page (mix and match to produce several combinations of two page spreads).  With these three kits you could do an entire album.  They are 12" pages, but can easily resize to 8" if you prefer that size scrapbook.

Last Christmas, I determined to make scrapbooks for all of the grandparents (because of my first husband's death and my remarriage we have an abundance of grandparents to attend to!)  These gifts were the most appreciated and commented on of any I've ever given over the years.  If you take the time to create one or two layouts a month from now until Christmas, your Christmas can be simple, restful and in actuality very inexpensive considering the pricelessness of the gift you're giving!

If you want to create your own pages with this art, or add embellishments to the pages, the individual pieces, borders, frames and papers are available as two separate art kits, these quick pages are made from "Audrey Jeanne's Blue Hydrangeas 1" and there is a second kit "Audrey Jeanne's Blue Hydrangeas 2" as well.  (Click on the names to go to the kits) Special thanks to atomic cupcake.

Happy Scrapping!

The Rest of The Blue Hydangeas Gift Bag & Tag Set

Okay, I'm pretty much done designing this kit, now to get it ready (the much less fun part of the job!) to send to Stacey.  It will still be a while because I have to create the instructions and create both bags in 3 sizes: Tabloid paper (11 x 17 or larger), Legal paper (8.5 x 14) & Letter Paper (8.5 x 11).

Kit previewThe photography can't show it very well, but the paper flower shown to the right is made from three layers and is very dimensional with or without the butterfly in the center.  In some uses I've highlighted the center with a jewel and in others the butterfly.

There are quite a few parts included that you may put together with your own embellishments and imagination to create gift tags and gift cards to match.

preview

The cream and tan bag would work very well for a Wedding gift.  I've added an irridescent white ribbon to the front and back and blue jewels and the large sheer wired ribbon closing the top of the bag for a touch of elegance

If I've left anything off, please leave me comments with suggestions for improving the kit!  Once I've finished creating all of the templates, I'll be able to design quite a few more sets in the months to come.

A reminder… The April Blog referral contest is still on going.  See the post with full information down below a ways (or click on the categories "Contests" to go right to it).  There are only a small number of people that have entered so far this month, so the chances to win the Blue Hydrangea Alphabet kit are pretty good!

Full-size Gift Bag Digital Clip Art Kit Coming Soon

There are quite a few of you that have printers capable of printing on 11 x 17 or even larger paper, but until now there haven't been any kits that I know of (at DAISIE Company) that make use of your capability.  But guess what?  That's about to change!

Lg gift bag preview

This bag is 13" high and almost 8" wide across the front.  It's a normal full to large sized bag like you would purchase at the store for $3.50 to $4.00 and now you'll be able to produce one at home yourself.

I finished with the template design and designing the actual art layout and have to do the instructions as they're a little bit complicated but not too hard.  I took photos at each step so that you'll have them written and visual.  Personally I do best with visual cues.

For those of you without large format printers, I will include the bag created to print out on 8.5" x 11" paper as well.

My large sized sample was printed on brochure paper with a semi-gloss finish and it looks like a store bought bag.

This bag will be a little while before it's out in the store (not too long, be patient with me!)

New For Mother’s Day (& Everyday!) Gift Box, Bag, Tag ‘n Gift Tag Card

I've been working on this for a little while and finally have it ready to preview.  This kit should be to Stacey by the deadline for next week's printables release.

previewThe box will have instructions on how to do the beaded handle with button and bead embellishment.  It also has some dimensional elements with the Mother's Day tag and butterfly in 3D.

I've shown the hang tag Butterfly house heart tied to a candle, but it could just as easily be a package tag.  The little bag is using Gina Jane's lovely little free template (thanks Gina Jane!)

Everything will be available in both Mother's Day or blank for your message for all year 'round.

I'm working on a large gift bag that those of you that can print 11 x 17 paper will be able to make at that size and the rest that only print 8 1/2 x 11 will be able to print at that size.  It's really kewl… can't wait to show you, but have to finish the template first Laughing

Back to work!  Audrey Jeanne Roberts

A Mother’s Day Gift Bag I Made From Gina Jane Johnson’s Freebie Gift Bag!

With all of the excitement around DAISIE Company today (they had a fabulous One Year Birthday Bash, with freebies, give aways and a crop using the Friday Freebie Template linked in the post before this one), I just couldn't create at the same time as I was in the chat room and on the message boards reading and answering questions.  I'm not as good a multi-tasker as many of the women.  So once everything quieted down, I pulled out Gina Jane's template and had a little fun!

 Sample made up gift bag

This mini bag is the result.  Her template was extremely easy to work with, to cut, score and fold.  I would rate it as a 1 on a 1-5 scale of difficulty.  If you know how to drag, drop and move objects around and can cut, score and fold a simple object this one's for you!

For additional ideas go to http://www.daisiecompany.com/galleries/index.php and check out the gallery for all the amazingly lovely creations that were made during the crop event today.

This template comes blank, you will have to utilize your own graphics to make it.  If you had participated in the crop event today you would have received a free art kit to use with the template.  So, mark your calendar as next Saturday, there's another crop coming!  There will be free prizes, and the subject of the crop will be making a Pabric nightlight!  A very fun and beautiful project.

A New, Great Bargain Resource for Crafters

Most of my readers are familiar with The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company and their message boards, but as readership is growing exponentially, I realized this morning that many of you aren't.

The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company is a digital clip art company that licenses art for both personal and small crafting businesses to use in creating all sorts of crafting, card making, recipe card making and scrapbooking creation.  They have a store that contains almost 900 different art kits and digital products.  The kits you see me preview here are available for sale at their store.  The link is always in the top right corner of my blog under "Portfolio."

The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company also has a very active message board where many of its members share their creations, their friendship and their lives.  It's a wonderful place for connecting.  This message board has just added another very interesting feature today, The D.A.I.S.I.E. Second Hand Shop.  This is a place where many crafters that find they have too much of a particular crafting product, software or tool will offer it for sale (most often at a bargain price!)

I got really excited today when I heard about this board, because my studio is cluttered up with original, one-of-a-kind samples that I have made over the years for manufacturers while we were designing product lines.  Also, I have some products that I have samples from the first production runs.  So, I will be listing items for sale there from time to time as I work my way through cleaning my studio — which is the never ending task for me Embarassed!

Here are the links to the second hand message board itself: http://www.daisiecompany.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=35

To a Graduation triple page scrapbook layout: http://www.daisiecompany.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15244

You might want to book mark the forum if you'd like to keep an eye out for some great deals on crafting supplies!

Especially For Moms “Making Easter Week Special”

When we take time ahead of a special holiday to prepare for it, talk about it, and stretch it out so it lasts a little longer, it’s sooooo much more fun for our kids!  Even if you’re busy, (okay, the reality is WE’RE ALL TOO BUSY!) taking a few extra minutes each day can make all the difference in how our families experience the holiday.Easter greeting

You know, it really isn’t the big things, the big events, the big trips that our children remember when they’re grown and gone — it’s little things that were done consistently that make the most lasting impression.  Every time I ask the question, "What was special about your Mom?" I get responses that indicate it was the little, caring things she did on a regular basis that added up to feeling loved and special to her.

Okay, today is Monday, so you still have an entire week before Easter!  What if you did one special little thing each day this week, do you think it could be possible to make this one of the most memorable Easters your kids will have ever had?

It can be as simple as making a note each day for their lunch box.  You don’t have to be an artist, your child will love it if you use his or her crayons and draw some simple Easter eggs!  If you write all your notes at once and put one each day in their lunch, it doesn’t even have to take too much time.  You could even cut out some Easter decorative images from a magazine and glue them to cardstock… your child won’t be judging your art skills, they’ll be basking in the love you’re expressing for them.

If you’re digitally inclined, use some of the D.A.I.S.I.E. Company digital clip art and you can make some beautiful treats with very little effort.  There are some wonderful Easter-oriented kits available there and here are even some FREE resources for you to make use of:

  1. Make "Nugget Buddies" to put in their lunch for a special Easter treat.  This Friday Freebie is absolutely the cutest thing!!!  ((UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).
  2. Make them a special book mark using this Friday Freebie and add your own Easter message: (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month
  3. Use my Free Craft Kit from last week (UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).and make a little basket of blessings.  Add a text message to the template before you print it out and craft it or simply add the message to one of the tags and you can personalize it for your child.  You’ll find that post, seven posts down from this one or here:http://www.daisiecompany.com/blogs/audreyjeanne/?p=74
  4. My dearest friend, Karla Dornacher has two special freebies that you can make use of.  A set of Easter eggs on her blog and a basket with egg stands (you can also use them as napkin rings in your child’s lunch).  Karla’s blog is always linked in my blog roll, but you can also find it here: http://www.karladornacher.typepad.com/ and you can find her website link on her blog or here: http://www.karladornacher.com/  A side note here, you can sign up for Karla’s newsletter on her website and there’s always an encouraging word and a craft freebie in each month’s edition.

For those of you for whom Easter has a deep and significant spiritual importance, don’t forget to make use of this week to help your child focus on the real reason we celebrate Easter.  Depending on the age of your child, perhaps you might read a story book that tells the story in childlike terms.  For older children, at breakfast or dinner, read a little more from the bible story each day leading up to Resurrection Sunday.  Help them to enter into the story themselves by asking questions like "How would you have felt as you saw Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey with the crowd cheering?  What would you have done?  Would you have laid a palm branch on the street in front of him too?"

Some of my most treasured memories of Easter were the crafting days my Mom and I had together.  Perhaps you might take the time to utilize some of the above resources with your kids to have them make special gifts for their teachers, grandparents, an elderly neighbor or a close friend.

I pray that this will be one of the most treasured of all Easters for you and your family.  If any of you know some more free resources to utilize, feel free to share them in the comments section!

An Easter Gift for You, A Craft Kit Freebie

I wanted to give all of you a small Easter present, so today I made up this fun "Chinese Take Out" Easter Basket Box with my Gerbera Daisie Clip art kit.  The box is perfect for year around use, but with the Easter egg gift card it’s a perfect little container to make for a small Easter gift or candy treats, cookies or?  Finished size is 4" tall by 3 1/2" square.  The kit requires a color printer and 4 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock, scissors, double stick tape or glue and 12" of wire for the handle.  Finish it off with the ribbon or trim or your choice and you’re done!

Link to free downloadThe photo doesn’t show the color well, but the box is a light aqua blue with yellow, orange and pink Gerbera Daisies.  Also included is a second Easter egg and another gift card for everyday use.

I hope that you and your family have a very special Easter celebration if you celebrate the holiday.  Every blessing I hold dear in my life has its roots in the most precious gift of love that Jesus Christ gave me on that first Easter.  While I was still a sinner, he died for me that I might live with him forever.  He loved me enough to give his life for me alone (even if I were the only sinner on Earth) and I am forever grateful.  He loves each of us with a powerful and unfathomable love far beyond our finite capability to understand.

That is the joy of my Easter and it is a joy I’ll never stop celebrating!  Blessings to you and yours.

(UPDATE: the link has expired.  Please check back for other specials about once or twice a month).  To download your kit, click on the photo to the left and it will take you to the download window.  When you finish, you can click go back to come back here or head to your crafting table.  HAPPY EASTER!

(Note: the missing file has been replaced if your download didn’t have 4 jpeg pages, redownload and all is well!)

New Quilt Kit is for Digitally Printable Fabrics

I was so excited this morning as I tested the quilt pattern for the second time.  It only took me 1/2 an hour to print, cut and assemble this quilt block!  It was so much faster without having to write the instructions as I was going along.  So, if you sew more often than once a year (like me Blush )– you will find this a very quick project to do!

Sunflower Quilt KitThis kit will be on its way to Stacey at The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company in a few minutes and hopefully will be up on Friday along with the Victorian Rose kit that was previewed earlier in the week.  Each digitally downloadable kit will sell for $7.95 and have all the art and instructions necessary to make up the block.  If you want to make your own printable fabric follow this link.  You can purchase Pabric (www.pabric.com) or other commercially available printable fabrics to use for the project as well.

This kit will have 3 options, as shown with a scripture, blank for you to put any quotation on and a png format center square for you to drop a picture in and make it a photo quilt square.

The company is sponsoring a recipe card contest this month where members have created their own recipe cards from the graphics available on the site.  You can visit the area where the cards are being shown by clicking on the recipe card shown here:

My New Quilt Block Template is Here! For Digital Printing on Printable Fabrics

This is the first in a series of quilt block templates that will allow you to design your own quilt tops to print on printable fabrics direct from your computer.  I will have a square format block in the next couple of weeks and will continue to play with this format and add to the collection.  The fabric I used for this project is Pabric's "Pabric Soft" which is a lighter, thinner fabric suitable for sewing projects, (www.pabric.com).  You can also create your own printable fabric following the link in the post directly below this one.

Link to Quilt block templateThis template kit is free.  Click on the quilt image to the left to begin the download process.  Feel free to let other quilters know about it, but please refer them to this blog site to download from here rather than simply pass on the files(http://www.daisiecompany.com/blogs/audreyjeanne/?p=41, copy and paste this link).  Also, if you do pass along the information to your quilting group or friends, post a comment telling me that you did so or email me at audreyjeannesblog@daisiecompany.com and I'll enter you in this month's contest in which the prize will be an digital art kit of one of my quilt blocks!

The kit as shown with my art in digital graphic form will be available next week from The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company.  It will have several options: as shown with 1 Corinthians 13, Faith, Hope & Love, a second option to put your picture where the verse is and a third option with the text shortened up allowing space for you to personalize the piece with a couple's names and date.

You can use any of your fonts that are similar in feel, or my Copperplate 2 handwritten font also available from The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company for a perfect match.

Have fun quilting and creating.  Please send me pictures of your creations and I'll post some of them here to give ideas and inspiration to all of us!

Pabric or Printable Fabric Quilt Wallhanging Kit

I pulled out my little "blue" Elna sewing machine today (she's probably 40 years old and still works like a dream).  I have had so much fun designing a pieced quilt that can be made out of your favorite digital graphics (or my kits) and any printable fabric.  It requires 4 sheets of 8.5" x 11" printable fabric.  You can make your own fabric, (see this link for instructions on how to do it http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/313-0-0-39-121.html )
or purchase the blank fabric by the pack of 10 pieces at www.pabric.com  This product and some other of their goodies will also soon be available in the D.A.I.S.I.E. Company store as well.

Audrey Jeanne's Victorian Rose Quilt Wall HangingThis kit features the text of 1 Corinthians 13 (Faith, Hope & Love) on it.  It would make it a great wedding or anniversary gift.  You could make it up as a pillow or as a wall hanging.  Its finished dimensions will be aproximately 12.75" x 14 3/4".

It could also be lovely as a gift for any family member or as a little girl's room decoration.  I used 8" x 10" as the dimension of the interior image so it could easily be traded out for your own 8" x 10" photo, or a smaller photo on a background print.

Well… if I don't get off of my blog and back to my "little blue" Elna, It's going to take me a long time to get this kit to you!  I'll have a Free downloadable blank template and instructions first, then the kit that you see will be available at The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company as soon as I can possibly get it finished, probably by March 9th, next Friday.
