I Forgot!!!!!! April’s Monthly Blog Referral Contest!

Each month I do a drawing for a free graphics package for those who take the time and effort to refer a friend or family member to my blog.  Last month we had 59 entries!  Here's the prize for this month's winner, a complete "Blue Hydrangeas Alphabet" in png format.

 Blog contest prize

The rules are simple, if you tell a friend, colleague or family member about my blog, please post a comment to that fact or send me an email and I will give you one entry per named referral (i.e. your sister, best friend and mom would earn 3 entries).  If you refer my blog to a discussion group or forum, I will give you 10 entries.  Simply post a link to the blog with your mention and post a comment letting me know.  The link will show up behind the scenes on my editing panel and when I can link your name and email to it, you'll receive the credit.

I just want each of you to know how much your encouragement and comments mean to me.  I never realized how much I would enjoy writing a blog and developing relationship with wonderful people from literally all over the world!

Previews Audrey Jeanne’s Blue Hydrangea Collection Digital Clip Art

I'm continuing to finish up the Blue Hydrangea Collections a little at a time.  This preview has been made with elements from "Blue Hydrangeas 1" which is now available on DAISIE at this link, "Blue Hydrangeas 2" & some quick page duos that will be released soon as well.

PREVIEWI have really, really loved working with this collection.  When it is complete it will have a lot to choose from and work with!

There will be a Wedding/Anniversary add on module and a torn-paper letter alphabet to go with it.  I will also release my "Audrey Jeanne's Loose Handwriting 1 font" which is elegant but not fussy font.

I promise not to keep you waiting too long on these.  I have most of the work done, but have to figure out what goes best with each kit and (as always) get the paperwork etc. ready for Miss Stacey!  Even artists have to do paperwork Cry.

By the way, for you quilters in my audience, we settled on my first collection of fabrics.  It is called "Magnolias in Winter," and will be a compilation of rich reds, chocolate browns, hunter greens, and tans.  It will feature beautiful creamy Magnolias, Magnolia wreaths, berries, pine boughs and other elements that will work all throughout the fall and winter seasons without being specifically Christmas.

This collection will be unveiled May 1st at a quilting trade show and I'll find out how soon afterwards I am allowed to give you sneak peeks.  Miss Stacey has offered to allow me to sell yardage at DAISIE, so I might take her up on that offer.  Perhaps I'll offer fat quarter kits or something similar?  You are welcome to leave me comments with your suggestions of what you would like to have available.  In addition, we have a wonderful quilt shop owner that is a member of DAISIE and has been an invaluable assistance to me.  If her quilt shop's website carries the fabrics I'll post the link here as well.

Wedding Season is Coming… Personalize Your Wedding or Wedding Gifts.

gold embellishmentsI have been working on my contribution to the April Daisie Club and having so much fun!  I had some wedding art that I had created a couple of years ago for greeting cards.  I decided to play around and see what I could make from it, and boy have I made A LOT!  In fact so much that there will be a kit in the D.A.I.S.I.E. Club and at least one other kit to go with it (and probably even more before I get done!)

Here's a pair of Quick Pages that I made using some of the kit contents.

Every day grows warmer making good on the promise that spring is just around the corner.  With Spring comes the wonderful celebration of Easter.

I'm working at avoiding the stress and starting my holiday preparations early.  Unfortunately my baby (20) will be going to Mexico to work in an orphanage this Easter instead of coming home to Mom!  So I'm going to make her goodies early and send her off in style.  I'm pretty proud of her (and all my kids)

New Release coming soon

If you love purple and lavendar I have plenty of those wonderful colors for you in this kit.  There are 44 pcs. and it will retail for $6.98 at The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company starting on Friday, March 16th, 2007.  Stacey has confirmed she'll get it up on Friday and I'm going to do something I've never done before… I'm putting it on sale for $5.98 for the first week only!

English Violets have a very special place in my heart.  As a child growing up, my grandmother and mother always had English Violets growing in the garden of any home they owned.  This was quite a feat in sunny San Diego as English Violets are not stocked in the stores.  When I was little I loved popping the little round seed heads (I was rather easily amused!)  We dug up and transplanted violets from one home to the next each time we moved.

When I grew up and got married, the very first thing I wanted to do when we purchased our own home was find some violets to put in my own garden to keep the tradition alive!  It made me feel as though I had come of age.

I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them!

New Quilt Kit is for Digitally Printable Fabrics

I was so excited this morning as I tested the quilt pattern for the second time.  It only took me 1/2 an hour to print, cut and assemble this quilt block!  It was so much faster without having to write the instructions as I was going along.  So, if you sew more often than once a year (like me Blush )– you will find this a very quick project to do!

Sunflower Quilt KitThis kit will be on its way to Stacey at The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company in a few minutes and hopefully will be up on Friday along with the Victorian Rose kit that was previewed earlier in the week.  Each digitally downloadable kit will sell for $7.95 and have all the art and instructions necessary to make up the block.  If you want to make your own printable fabric follow this link.  You can purchase Pabric (www.pabric.com) or other commercially available printable fabrics to use for the project as well.

This kit will have 3 options, as shown with a scripture, blank for you to put any quotation on and a png format center square for you to drop a picture in and make it a photo quilt square.

Also shown are all four pages of the kit.  You simply print the pages, cut carefully apart, stack the pieces and follow the instructions to assemble.

My New Quilt Block Template is Here! For Digital Printing on Printable Fabrics

This is the first in a series of quilt block templates that will allow you to design your own quilt tops to print on printable fabrics direct from your computer.  I will have a square format block in the next couple of weeks and will continue to play with this format and add to the collection.  The fabric I used for this project is Pabric's "Pabric Soft" which is a lighter, thinner fabric suitable for sewing projects, (www.pabric.com).  You can also create your own printable fabric following the link in the post directly below this one.

Link to Quilt block templateThis template kit is free.  Click on the quilt image to the left to begin the download process.  Feel free to let other quilters know about it, but please refer them to this blog site to download from here rather than simply pass on the files(http://www.daisiecompany.com/blogs/audreyjeanne/?p=41, copy and paste this link).  Also, if you do pass along the information to your quilting group or friends, post a comment telling me that you did so or email me at audreyjeannesblog@daisiecompany.com and I'll enter you in this month's contest in which the prize will be an digital art kit of one of my quilt blocks!

The kit as shown with my art in digital graphic form will be available next week from The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company.  It will have several options: as shown with 1 Corinthians 13, Faith, Hope & Love, a second option to put your picture where the verse is and a third option with the text shortened up allowing space for you to personalize the piece with a couple's names and date.

You can use any of your fonts that are similar in feel, or my Copperplate 2 handwritten font also available from The D.A.I.S.I.E. Company for a perfect match.

Have fun quilting and creating.  Please send me pictures of your creations and I'll post some of them here to give ideas and inspiration to all of us!
