One of the strongest new trends in Modern Wedding Styles is the BOHO or Bohemian Gypsy style. Simple, loose, fun, with a strong element of DIY and touches of burlap and lace. I think it’s the juxtaposition of burlap’s rough, simple earthy texture and lace’s elegance, refinement and romance that sums this trend up best. Vintage lace bits and pieces tied around romantic gathered bouquets. Escort seating cards clipped onto lace strung from trees and mix n match patterns, old lace table cloths and anything else that warms your heart – make for a warm and welcoming wedding celebration. I have personally have had an addiction to gathering beautiful antique laces. One of my favorite things to do each summer when we lived in San Diego was to visit the Hand Made lace exhibits at the Del Mar Fair. The incredible arts of tatting, bobbin lace and other timeless, beautiful crafts are being kept alive for generations yet to come. Being able to design something that will help keep that love alive is a special joy for me!
