audrey jeanne roberts, summer on the porch digital clip art kitSUMMER FUN STORE LINK HERE Not only am I feverishly working to load all my summer kits, I’m putting them on sale at 20% off until July 31 as well!  This refreshing summer kit shows a totally different side of my artistic/design personality.  These kits are great for scrapbooking, crafting and to create pool or beach party decorations and invites.

INSTANT SCRAPBOOK PAGES STORE LINK HERE  If you don’t scrapbook, you can still use instant scrapbook pages — how you ask?!  Think out of the box.  An instant page can be reduced to 5 or 6″ and turned into a card cover.  Just add a background paper behind the page, add your text in the boxes and you have a card.  Take pics of your kids playing and send a card to grandma & grandpa!  Create an invitation to a pool or beach party.  Change your paper size to 8″ x 10″, add a background paper and pics and send them to a photo lab to be printed out and framed.

Abigail’s Party Purse Gift Set “Iris Elegance”

Iris stationery gift bag, party purse, gift tag, greeting card, digital crafting kitLINK TO STORE ITEM HERE.  Has been added to the store.  This has been created with Audrey Jeanne’s “Iris Elegance” art kit, Abigail Scott DESIGN Studio has created a fun and elegant gift purse set that is perfect to use for bridal showers or other party occasions.  The purses are in two sizes.  Because of the slanted sides the measurements are an average size.  The larger purse is 5 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ x 4″ and the smaller purse is 3 3/4″ x 1 1/4″ x 2 5/8.”  Use the smaller purse with a tag tied on it for a place card, marking seating arrangements.  Fill the purses with goodies such as Hershey’s Nuggets or Mini bars covered with the art provided.
There is a layered, dimensional 4″ x 6″ greeeting card and matching envelope that is included and could even be used as an invitation.  In addition there are two background papers to use inside of your gift purses.  Simply print on the reverse side before cutting out.  The kit also makes four different tags and a mini gift card with layers.

We are Moving to a New Store

Many of you have been customers at the DAISIE company web site.  I so enjoyed my time with all of you there, and quite frankly never planned to leave.  Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that our contract with Daisie has been severed and our products have been removed from their location.

In the near future, you will be able to find them again at www.aimeeasher.com.  It will take a considerable amount of time to reformat and upload over 180 kits, so if there are one or two you desperately need, feel free to contact me and we’ll work to put those at the head of the list.

I will also have some of my kits here at my store as well, but future plans here include offering different things than will be at Aimee Asher, so stay tuned!

Congratulations to the winner!  Hmmmm…. she has so many of my sets that she might have to wait until the next new one comes out to claim her prize :-)!

If you don’t know, I have a blog contest drawing twice a month and all you have to do to enter is post a comment on any day from the 1st – 15th, or the 16th – 31st and you have entered the contest.  A number for the day of the post then is drawn at random and a number for the comment and that individual wins one of my kits for free.  The kit given away varies each time and if you already own that kit I will always substitute it for another.

Also, this is a great time to remind you all that I have a new contest each month that will be drawn from everyone that purchases an item in my store.  It will be drawn on or around the first of the month from the previous month’s sales.  You don’t have to do anything special to enter.

Audrey Jeanne Roberts, cross stitch kit Gerbera Daisy Polka DotFor those of you that like to cross stitch, Jodi at the Golden Hoop is licensing my art to create some very nice cross stitching kits.  On HER BLOG TODAY (LINK HERE) She features the first two, “Old World Poppy” and “Polka Dot Gerbera Daisy.”

You can PURCHASE THE KITS HERE.    In my younger, and much less busy years, I loved to cross stitch.  That was when I could see aida cloth 22 without reading glasses!  It is such a soothing hobby and the results are so sweet and beautiful.  If you’ve never given it a try, you might just fall in love with the hobby.

Help me to know more and more about you, so I can trust you more and have greater hope for my future.  When I know how great your mercies and and how much you love to show mercy, I can trust a little more that you will show mercy to ME!  When I understand that you fully know the future you have written for me, I can come to rest in the fact that no setback is a surprise to you.  I can also trust that you have planned a way forward whether I can see it or not.

Reveal yourself to me more that I can know you better and trust you more fully.  Give me a hope that is real because it is found in you!  AMEN

One of the reasons we like to create crafting kits with the art is to give you some ideas of how you might use the art kits in creating your own items.  Feel free to “borrow” our ideas, we really don’t mind!

This Week’s Freebie and the Cute Story That Goes With it!

Hershey\'s 8 oz candy wrapper Freebie, Blue Cottage Rose Digital Clip Art by Audrey Jeanne RobertsI was talking to a girlfriend on the phone this weekend and decided to put her on the speaker phone and finally tackle cleaning up my computer desk a little. I brought a trash can in and started throwing things away.  I kid you not and am NOT EXAGGERATING my desk was 7-8″ deep in “stuff”  The only reason I finally broke down and cleaned it was three times this week things slid off the pile to the floor like an avalanche!

1/2 way down through the pile, what do I discover?  A 1/2 lb Hershey’s chocolate bar that I “lost” months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!  OMG I started laughing so hard.

The moral of the story is if your craft room or desk is dirty, you might want to clean it, the craft fairy might have hidden some chocolate in it as a reward for your efforts!!!!  LOL!   So many ladies wanted a piece of that candy bar (at both the www.aimeeasher.com and www.pccrafter.com message boards) that I decided I had to figure out a way to share the bar without playing favorites!

So, I made a candy bar wrapper that fits an 8 oz Hershey’s bar!  since I can’t share my bar with all of you, if you want to go buy yourself a bar you can wrap it as a present from me before you eat it :-)!  This kit will be FREE for one week (until next Saturday, July 12th, 2008) and then it will be added into another kit I’m working on that is a printable kit altered gallon can  kit with card, envelope and gift tags.  DOWNLOAD  no longer available

Blue Cottage Rose Paper Pack in Store

Blue Cottage Rose Paper Pack 1I just finished the paper pack that coordinates with “Blue Cottage Rose” and posted it to the store.  YOU CAN FIND IT HERE. The store now appears to be working well (knock on wood!)  When you purchase through Paypal you will have to click on the button to be returned to the store, but it has worked several times this morning, yippee!!!

Now that I’ve designed this, I want to license a fabric collection with it to do my guest bedroom, I know it would be awesome!!!  I can just see a quilt made out of the coordinating fabrics with the worn, cottage feel to it.  Ah well, we’ll see what my fabric company thinks when they see it…!

By the way, if you are a Daisie Company customer and want to make sure you haven’t already purchased an item.  I’ve added the product # at the beginning of each item, I shortened it to AJ### and you can compare that to your existing digital product files to double check before you buy.

All brand new store items that have not previously been sold at Daisie Company, have product numbers starting with AJ1000 and up.  I hope this will make it easy and safe for you!

Oh my goodness, without the help of a dear, dear friend (who I swear has angel’s wings hiding under her blouse) I would never have finally been able to start loading the store.

You will find each of the kits either by clicking on the left hand side of this blog, under “Newest Products” or by clicking “Product Groups” on the top left side directly under the calendar.

One of my kits is brand new and can be won as a prize in Lambie’s contest at www.daisiecompany.com (the message board is down right now until early next week) or if you are impatient with contests can be purchased here for $2.98!

I will initially start loading kits that I have already released elsewhere and then will soon start adding brand new kits exclusive to this site.  One of those kits will be a new Day Planner created with the templates of Abigail Scott DESIGN Studios and licensed for use here.  I have personally been using this planner for 2 months now and from that experience will be doing some slight refining of the set before I release it.

Most creative people I know HATE having to be organized, but if their organizational system is PRETTY and gets them lots of compliments I find they have a much higher chance of actually USING IT!!!  I am personally doing really well with it — it’s helped me a great deal, and I hope it will help others who are similarly “organizationally challenged!”

Audrey Jeanne’s Expressions Blog is Moving to a Bigger House!

I have redesigned my blog in conjunction with moving to a new hosting company.  I hadn’t even looked at what could be done on a blog since I started mine in January 2008.  Oh my!  I am amazed at all the new and exciting technologies that have sprung up in the last 18 months.  

Blogging was such a foreign concept and felt very hard when I started but it has since grown very comfortable and has been a wonderful joy and outlet for me.  However, I realized that I was settling into a rut of familiarity.  Once I learned about some of the new options, I had dozens of ideas of how I could take my blog to a new level and expand in several possible new directions.  It is very challenging for this middle-aged brain to have to learn all the new programs and concepts behind them, but it is very invigorating as well.

We all love feeling comfortable, but I’ve discovered that when I grow comfortable and at ease I’m often just a step away from becoming stale!  In my art, I work hard to fulfill my artistic mission statement which is “I constantly strive to attain a style that is recognizable without becoming predictable.”

As I shared in an earlier post, the empty nest is upon me and I am wrestling with the incredible grief and disruption that this change brings to a very “comfortable,” and treasured pattern that my life had settled into.  So I am trying to embrace this change and see just where it might take me.  I’m trying to use this as an opportunity to stretch and grow in my home life and in all the other areas of my life as well. 

With my new host company, Host Monster, I will have the capability of having a “Blog Store” where I will be able to sell my digital art kits, printable kits and other items such as custom elegant wedding invitations that are digitally downloadable and customizable.  I will also have the capability of having video and audio files, though I don’t know how to do them yet.  But imagine my being able to do a tutorial and show you how to create a project — Wouldn’t that be fun?!

So to all my “old friends” I’m inviting you along for the journey as I see where this next phase of life will take me.  As I promised my husband 15 years ago when he asked me to marry him “I’m not sure where life will take us, but I promise you that if you hang around with me you definitely won’t have a chance to get bored!!”
