Abigail Scott DESIGN Studios Product is Coming Soon

to my store.  I hope that you don’t mind that we didn’t tell you who we were at the outset.  Part of the reason was my girls wanted a chance to succeed or fail on their own merits without the benefits of their mother’s name.  I am so very proud of them both.

Earlier this year, my two youngest daughters and I began working together as a small freelance design studio.  The oldest of my children by birth, Jennifer, is quite gifted in graphic design and beading.  She uses those skills in designing marketing materials and newsletters as part of her “day job.”  Both of the girls have developed a rather keen eye for design and have always been behind the scenes giving their input in my product development work — especially as it relates to the younger market.  My youngest, Jacqui, came up with the studio name based on the middle names of the other two siblings that aren’t involved… from this beginning came Abigail Scott DESIGN Studios.

It has been fun to work together with them on projects totally different from my norm.  Most times we’ve talked over the concepts and picked art together and then I usually actually create the kits.  Both of them have the gift of art direction and love to boss their mom around :-)!  One of the most fun parts for me has been to work with artwork that is so totally different from my own that I could never have created it myself.  I’ve had the privilege of working with whimsical, contemporary and elegant art from the many quality artists at the Daisie Company. It has been a true joy.

The Abigail Scott DESIGN Studio kits that were designed with Audrey Jeanne’s Expressions art will be coming to this store soon, those that were designed with art besides my own will not be able to be brought here.  So stay tuned and see what our Design Studio will bring next!

This Week’s Freebie and the Cute Story That Goes With it!

Hershey\'s 8 oz candy wrapper Freebie, Blue Cottage Rose Digital Clip Art by Audrey Jeanne RobertsI was talking to a girlfriend on the phone this weekend and decided to put her on the speaker phone and finally tackle cleaning up my computer desk a little. I brought a trash can in and started throwing things away.  I kid you not and am NOT EXAGGERATING my desk was 7-8″ deep in “stuff”  The only reason I finally broke down and cleaned it was three times this week things slid off the pile to the floor like an avalanche!

1/2 way down through the pile, what do I discover?  A 1/2 lb Hershey’s chocolate bar that I “lost” months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!  OMG I started laughing so hard.

The moral of the story is if your craft room or desk is dirty, you might want to clean it, the craft fairy might have hidden some chocolate in it as a reward for your efforts!!!!  LOL!   So many ladies wanted a piece of that candy bar (at both the www.aimeeasher.com and www.pccrafter.com message boards) that I decided I had to figure out a way to share the bar without playing favorites!

So, I made a candy bar wrapper that fits an 8 oz Hershey’s bar!  since I can’t share my bar with all of you, if you want to go buy yourself a bar you can wrap it as a present from me before you eat it :-)!  This kit will be FREE for one week (until next Saturday, July 12th, 2008) and then it will be added into another kit I’m working on that is a printable kit altered gallon can  kit with card, envelope and gift tags.  DOWNLOAD  no longer available

A Special Friend Stopped By Today…

Phyllis Dobbs, who is a wonderful artist specializing in designing fabrics as well as many other products, stopped by my blog at Daisie Company and noticed that it has been disabled so she emailed me.  (Which reminds me to mention to you guys that have found my blog here, please send a note to anyone you know has been a reader giving them the new link if you would please :-).)

Phyllis and I have known each other for about 5 or 6 years now and have so much fun together at the gift show in Atlanta when I get to go there.  She designs some incredibly whimsical art.  I snagged a picture from her blog to post here.  If you love finding out about quilting or other sewing projects, you’ll love to stop by her blog which is on my blogroll to the right.  Her regular website address is www.phyllisdobbs.com.  Stop by and say “Hi!”

Blue Cottage Rose Paper Pack in Store

Blue Cottage Rose Paper Pack 1I just finished the paper pack that coordinates with “Blue Cottage Rose” and posted it to the store.  YOU CAN FIND IT HERE. The store now appears to be working well (knock on wood!)  When you purchase through Paypal you will have to click on the button to be returned to the store, but it has worked several times this morning, yippee!!!

Now that I’ve designed this, I want to license a fabric collection with it to do my guest bedroom, I know it would be awesome!!!  I can just see a quilt made out of the coordinating fabrics with the worn, cottage feel to it.  Ah well, we’ll see what my fabric company thinks when they see it…!

By the way, if you are a Daisie Company customer and want to make sure you haven’t already purchased an item.  I’ve added the product # at the beginning of each item, I shortened it to AJ### and you can compare that to your existing digital product files to double check before you buy.

All brand new store items that have not previously been sold at Daisie Company, have product numbers starting with AJ1000 and up.  I hope this will make it easy and safe for you!
