A Question For My Readers

Some of you know, but many do not, that I am a published author of somewhere around 12 or 13 books (I’ve lost count).  I have an idea for a book that instead of going the usual route in working with one of my publishers, I’m actually thinking of doing as an E-book.  It would be a book of prayers similar to what you’re reading here at the end of each post.

Would any of you be interested in such a thing?  A dear friend of mine is an incredible writer of Christian fiction and he has developed a plan whereby you widen your readership through self-publishing E-books and I find it a very interesting concept.  Please leave comments with what you think pro or con.  I’ll be looking for them.

If it went well, I might then pull together some of the other writing I have done on this blog for building relationships etc. and create other books that have different themes.  The Lord is stirring up the sense in my heart that I need to get writing again after about a 4 year intentional break from publishing… it will be interesting to see where He leads!

THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: Ps 119:105-106 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.  I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. NIV

PRAYER:  Lord, thank you for the light you shed on the path you want me to follow.  Help me to discern it and to trust that you know where it leads.  A lamp only shines a step or two ahead, but it makes clear and sure those next steps, I know I can trust your light.  You have taught me that when I have committed my way to you and resolved in my heart that I want only to go where you want to lead me, you will lead my by your word and by that still small voice of your spirit that directs me to "turn this way or that."  Make it really easy for me to obey and follow you Lord and really hard for me to miss your path!  Sometimes I’m a little slow and afraid to follow, but I trust that you know exactly how to get me where you want me to go!  AMEN

  1. I think you would do a wonderful job. You have so much wisdom in your writings and I enjoy reading them.

  2. AJ, I vote, “Yay”. Will it be divided into sections for ease of reference? I don’t know if that makes sense to you. Will there be different ebooks on different subjects or will there be a variety of subjects in one ebook? (One theme with sections is the rough plan. For instance “Prayers for Busy Moms” might be a theme and “Wisdom to teach,” “Strength for each day” and “Protection for my kids” might be sections. I’m just thinking out loud and in the earliest stages of thinking about doing this, but wanted some feedback from people who read me regularly 🙂 Love, aj)

  3. I think it sounds like a great idea. You have such words of wisdom and I appreciate you sharing them with us here.

  4. AJ I think it would be a great idea. It is another way to reach out to people and encourage them. What a tremendous gift you have been given and what a wonderful age we live in.

  5. I enjoy reading the wisdom you share on your Blog.

Does anyone have a flashlight? My path is pretty dark, I have trouble finding which way to go. I need really easy instructions to help me find my path!

  6. Your idea for the book sounds great, but as a personal preference, I would rather have a “hard copy” than an eBook. That way I could tuck it in my purse or tote and take it anywhere, or read it in bed, etc. I sometimes have trouble reading on a computer screen. But then, if it was small enough, or separated into sections, I could print it out to read.

  7. I like the idea, but I do tend to agree with Joy about the sections to print out…I read much better in my hand than on my desk. You are a wise woman and will find the right thing. Good luck.

  8. Nay and Yea! How’s that for confusing! LOL! I have never read an e-book. I’ve always been turned off by them and would rather have an actual book in my little grubby hands. I LOVE books! However, I so love everything you do, AJ, that I would make yours my first e-book. So I guess the final answer is………
    YEA!
    Blessings,
    Cindy

  9. I think it is a great idea….e-books can be printed out so you can have that “copy” with you. i think anything that gives the Lord’s word, that reaches out to those searching is a great tool and with more & more people utilizing the net, I think an e-book would be the perfect tool

  10. Which ever way you decide to go I’m sure the book would would be inspirational!

  11. I think this would be a book that people would want to pick-up again and again throughout the years. That would be difficult with an e-book. I also think you would lose a big market of people (seniors) who would love the book and perhaps be given a hard copy book but not an e-book.

That being said, I do think you should go forth with at least one of the options. I am always touched (and they always seem to be just what i need at that moment) when reading your messages.

  12. I think that’s a great idea! I’ve bought 2 e-books and enjoy both of them! I could probably not only enjoy, but USE yours! LOL

  13. i think ebooks are great but i do preferr regular. but i know a lot of people who love ebooks..
