Have any of you had the awful stomach flu that is going around?  If so, any suggestions?  My husband, myself and my youngest daughter all have it and it isn’t pretty.  Fever, chills, aches, in my case vomitting and in my daughter’s the runs.  We have Immodium AD and are drinking plenty of fluids.  Would charcoal tablets be helpful?  We picked this up from Everett’s house when we were there to support his mom and our dear friends.

I’ll be watching for comments and suggestions so thanks anyone who’s been through it.

Try drinking a little vinegar in some water. I’ve read that somewhere…never tried it! Also my son once had the flu(the runs!)for over a week and an older lady gave us some blackberry wine for him and it seemed to work.
Hope you’re all feeling better soon!

Sorry you and your family are feeling poorly, AJ. That bug has been doing the rounds this side of The Pond as well. It can be very debilitating. My husband and I have bee fortunate enough to have escaped so I’m afraid I can’t help. Perhaps it will only last 24-28 hours.

Sorry, you and your family have the bug. Ginger ale is good for upset stomach.

AJ, hope you and your family are feeling better real soon. Sorry I can’t offer any helpful suggestions. Guess it just has to run its course.

Well, it might be too late for this to help, but for the runs, the best things are to think BRAT. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. That will slow things down, but the vomiting, it’s best to not eat anything (or drink) for at least an hour after you do it. then try a teaspoon (yes, a teaspoon!) of liquid (gatorade or water, or pepsi) and wait 15 minutes before you have any more. Then try two teaspoons. if that stays down, move on to a little more, like an ounce or two. You can also try sucking ice chips (or make gatorade ice cubes). You are probably feeling better, but if anyone else gets it, maybe it will help them.

God bless!
Valarie
