We’re Going to be Grandparents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were headed out the door to go camping when our oldest daughter, Ariane, called and demanded that all of us be on the phone at once… my heart started to race and I was holding my breath as she said "We’re 6 weeks pregnant!"

Some people struggle with becoming grandparents thinking somehow it makes them old, but we’re thrilled!  I’d love to be called "Grammy" if I had the option to choose but any name coming off of my sweet grandchild’s lips would be music to my ears.

Got to run, but I just had to tell somebody!!!!  Hugs, AJ

  1. Congratulations!! As the grandmother of 2 little boys and another child on the way, I can tell you that being a grandmother is just about the most exciting thing there is in life! I am “Gigi”, named by my oldest grandson when he was about 18 months old. I love it! Congratulations again and please keep us posted on how things are progressing.

    What exciting news. I often wonder if being a grandparent isn’t the reward after the trials of parenthood :- }

  4. As a grandma of an eight yr old girl, a four yr old boy and another boy due in September 2007 congratulations. Let the spoiling begin.
    With each grandchild as soon as I found out I started buying something small but very much needed each week, Q-tips, vaseline, baby wipes, that way it doesn’t seem like such an expense when the baby finally comes. Also with each pregnancy I give a set of cookie cutters, a recipe for sugar cookies and a note telling the new Mom that these are to be used the first time the child comes home from school informing Mommy that they have to take cookies to school the next day. Something else I give the new parents is the news paper from the day the baby is born, then in 20 yrs they can all look back. Congratulations again. (Val, what fabulous ideas! I’m going to adopt them. You’ve obviously done a GREAT job! Hugs, aj)

  5. So happy for you, AJ…great news! Sorry, I haven’t been coming
    to your blog as often as I would like due to my mother’s illness
    becoming worse. I do, however, always find something to read
    which seems relevant to what I am going through at the time.
    You must be reading my mind:)
